Prof Dai Hongyan's Team from the CUFE Business School Wins the First Prize of the 2024 Science and Technology Progress Award of China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP)
From September 3 to 4, 2024, China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing held the award ceremony of the 2024 Science and Technology Award of China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing at the 2024 Modern Logistics Technology Innovation and Hub Economic Development Conference. This award ceremony was chaired by Professor Dai Hongyan. The project “AI-driven Intelligent Instant Logistics Optimization and Application”, which was completed by Professor Dai Hongyan in collaboration with Professor Zhou Weihua of Zhejiang University, Lecturer Xiao Qin of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics and Professor Jiang Hai of Tsinghua University, won the first prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award.
The Science and Technology Award of China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP S&T Award) is the only social force award in the logistics industry approved and registered by the National Office for Science & Technology Awards in 2022, of which the registration number is 0059. The project that wins this award is qualified to be nominated for the State Science and Technology Awards. The CFLP S&T Award work is guided and supervised by the National Office for Science & Technology Awards. With perfect working institutions and management methods, this office has a review committee, a review expert group and an award office. The China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing insists on promoting high-quality development of the industry through technological innovation. Since the first selection of CFLP S&T Award in 2003, the award work has been carried out for 21 years. This award witnesses the technological development process of China's logistics industry, plays a positive leading role in the industry’s technological innovation and progress, and enjoys high social influence and a high degree of recognition.
In the era of artificial intelligence, AI technology has become an important carrier for enhancing the national economic and technological competitiveness. Besides, as drones gradually show greater potential in logistics application scenarios, the low-attitude economy empowered by AI technology has become a distinct them in the development of instant logistics. Due to large instant logistics volume, supply and demand uncertainty and multi-agent decision-making, the instant logistics decision-making system is highly complex. The construction of AI-driven intelligent instant logistics decision-making models and paradigms has become a cutting-edge new topic around the world. The research is committed to building an AI-driven intelligent instant logistics scheduling model, replacing some workers with AI-driven drones, scheduling systems and other intelligent software and hardware, breaking the distance limit of instant logistics within the city, and realizing the all-distance, all-scenario and all-time delivery in three stages: first-end pickup by delivery men, intermediate transportation by drones and final delivery by delivery men. The research team has developed innovative AI-driven decision-making theories and methods to overcome the key technologies of AI-driven intelligent instant logistics scheduling: accurately predicting the demand and the distribution efficiency of different transport capacity, considering the prediction results, the uncertainty of prediction and the autonomous decision-making ability of delivery men in the scheduling model, and considering the three-phase convergence of drones and delivery men in the long-distance scheduling decision. This research optimizes the intelligent instant logistics scheduling management system and can enable its implementation and operation, sot that it is crucial to guide the actual enterprise operation and build an efficient intelligent instant logistics platform.
Professor Dai Hongyan has conducted long-term and in-depth research in such fields as data-driven optimization decision-making and man-machine interaction and collaboration, obtained rich research results, published more than 30 papers in the recent 5 years, including those published in Management Science, European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Management Science and Engineering, Journal of Management Engineering and other domestic and foreign flagship journals, and presided over multiple national, provincial and ministerial-level programs, such as the Training Program of the Major Research Plan of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Besides, he has won the first prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, the third prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of Zhejiang Province, the second prize of the Management Science Award of the International Conference of the Chinese Scholars Association for Management Science and Engineering, and the first prizes of the excellent paper awards of multiple international conferences.
