The 63th Session of the Series of Academic Lectures Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the Central University of Finance and Economics and the 18th Session of the Excellent Academic Forum Lecture Series in 2024 Are Successfully Held
On the morning of October 12, 2024, the Business School held the 63th Session of the Series of Academic Lectures Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of Central University of Finance and Economics and the 18th Session of the Excellent Academic Forum Lecture Series in 2024 at the Conference Room A02 of the MBA Education Center on the Xueyuan South Road Campus of the Central University of Finance and Economics. Associate Professor Chen Ning from University of Canterbury, New Zealand was invited as the guest speaker of this lecture. The Business School’s teachers and postgraduate students attended this event.
This meeting was chaired by Associate Professor Chen Jinliang, deputy dean of the Business School. Before the official start of this lecture, Professor Chen Jinliang introduced Associate Professor Chen Ning’s resume in detail. Professor Chen received a bachelor’s degree in science and a master's degree in management from Tsinghua University, and a PhD in marketing from the University of New South Wales in Australia. He currently serves as a doctoral supervisor at the Department of Marketing of University of Canterbury, New Zealand and a researcher at the Center for Development of Sports Industry of Tsinghua University. His main research interests are the psychology and behaviors of tourism and sports consumers as well as braoder environmental psychology based on man-land relationship.
The topic of his lecture is “Marketing meets Environmental psychology: Emphasizing on Sense of Place and Place Attachment”. Mr. Chen elaborates on the current research status and future development trend of sense of place and place attachment in the field of marketing from the perspective of environmental psychology, especially the aspects involving social environment, natural environment, and ecosystem. Related topics include locality, tourism behavior, sustainable behavior, environmental behavior, and homesickness and so on.
After the sharing, with regard to the topic of Mr. Chen’s lecture, the attending teachers and students actively participated in the discussion about research directions and publication of high-level papers and so on, further deepening their academic exchanges.
