The Business School Holds a Teaching Experience Sharing Meeting
On the afternoon of October 9, the Business School successfully held a teacher experience sharing meeting at Conference Room A28, MBA Education Center, with an aim to discuss and share teaching experience. We were honored to invite Professor Zhu Fei, associate dean of the Business School and deputy director of the MBA Education Center, and Li Jiapeng, a young teacher from the Department of Strategy, to attend this meeting as keynote speakers. All the faculty members of the Business School actively attended this meeting.
Professor Zhu Fei shared his years of teaching experience in a simple but profound manner from multiple perspectives. He first emphasized the importance of the first lesson; secondly, stable and high-quality teaching needs to be based on teaching methodology; besides, teaching strategies are designed on the basis of the characteristics of course objects. Professor Zhu Fei also mentioned that students’ experience foundation should be evoked, created and replaced in the classroom. Furthermore, he encouraged the incorporation of intellectually challenging and humanistic content into the curriculum, the embedding of cutting-edge research and vivid practice into classroom teaching and the combination of theory and practice. Professor Zhu Fei also suggested modularizing the classroom, making full use of mini cases and using more attractive teaching expression modes, and advocated increasing teachers’ visibility in order to better communicate with students. Finally, he emphasized high-quality questioning and high-quality summary feedback.
Li Jiapeng, a teacher from the Department of Strategy who won the first prize in the 13th Basic Teaching Skills Competition for Young Teachers in Beijing Universities, shared his mental journey and practical experience during preparations for the competition, including teaching skills, blackboard design, and model application.
The atmosphere at the sharing meeting was warm. Teachers were fully concentrated and actively interacted with each other. They all said that they gained a lot of valuable teaching experience and methods from this sharing meeting, and the meeting broadened their teaching ideas in the future. We believe that the teaching quality of the Business School will be further improved through this event, providing students with a richer and more vivid learning experience.
