On September 28, 2024, the “High-end Forum on Overall Development and Security” sponsored by the Central University of Finance and Economics was held in Beijing, and CUFE Business School undertook the parallel sub-forum on "Supply Chain Security and High-quality Development”. The guests discussed the issues such as supply chain resilience, supply chain strategy, deep integration of real economy and digital economy, supply chain security, trade barriers and global supply chain competition around two main themes, i.e. "Supply Chain Resilience and High-quality Development" and "China's Supply Chain Security and Resilience". Teachers and students from Central University of Finance and Economics, Fudan University, Zhejiang University, Renmin University of China, Nankai University, Beijing Normal University, University of International Business and Economics, Beijing Foreign Studies University and Beijing University of Technology, experts from the Institute of Comprehensive Transportation of the National Development and Reform Commission, and corporate representatives of YTO Express Group, totaling more than 50 people, attended the parallel sub-forum. He introduced the development history and current situation of the supply chain management specialty of the Business School, and pointed out that the supply chain management specialty of the Business School developed rapidly and achieved remarkable results, which was one of the important measures to comply with the national strategic needs and industrial development trends. Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE) is the first "double first-class" university in China which offers the supply chain management specialty. Since the offering of the supply chain management specialty in 2019, it has continuously increased its investment in teaching and scientific research to promote specialty construction and discipline development. The supply chain management specialty has been approved as a national first-class undergraduate specialty construction site, and has been in the forefront of the undergraduate supply chain specialties nationwide. In 2024,  the joint application submitted by the Business School and the School of Mathematics with regard to the "Supply Chain Management-Economic Statistics" Dual Degree Compound Talent Cultivation Program was approved. Based on the national development strategy and actual needs, this program gives full play to the comparative advantages of the disciplines, builds a new mechanism for cross-type talent cultivation in an innovative way and deeply integrates supply chain management and economic statistics, to cultivate the "Supply Chain Management+Economic Statistics" composite talents that place equal attention to both theories and practices for the country, to promote the upgrading of the supply chain digitalization and to develop new quality productive forces. In the past two years, in the direction of the Supply Chain Management discipline, the Business School made important breakthroughs in the publication of papers in global high-level journals, such as UTD24, and in the building of consulting service capabilities. We hope that this forum could contribute more wisdom to the modernization of the country and the safe development of the industrial and supply chains.
